Cadillac Shines in 2022 J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study

Cadillac | Ballwin, MO

While dependability can be difficult to quantify, J.D. Power does this hard work year after year in its annual Vehicle Dependability Study. In the 2022 results, Cadillac got an above average score and even outperformed many of its rival luxury brands.

The Vehicle Dependability Study covers 184 areas in nine categories. J.D. Power surveys new vehicle owners after three of ownership and asks them to rate their vehicles in these areas. The survey covers things like climate controls, infotainment, powertrain performance, and driving assistance (new for 2022). The scores are recorded as Problems Per 100 Vehicles (PP100). The higher the score, the more problems a vehicle has.

With a PP100 score of 168, Cadillac earned a fourth-place finish among premium brands. The average score among luxury brands was 204 PP100, while the mass market average was 190. Luxury brands tend to have more reported problems because they are equipped with more advanced technology.

It’s also worth noting that both the Cadillac XT4 and XT5 received good individual vehicle scores in their respective segments. Just in case you need more motivation to bring home one of these sophisticated SUVs.
