The 2019 Cadillac XT4 luxury SUV
stands out in its segment for its sophisticated styling, impressive
performance, and advanced technology. Here are five things we love about the
new Cadillac XT4:
The powerful turbocharged engine: The
Cadillac XT4 takes its power from a turbocharged four-cylinder that cranks out
237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
An intuitive infotainment system:
Cadillac’s User Experience infotainment system is miles ahead of its
competitors. Cadillac’s system uses physical buttons and knobs instead of using
unreliable touchscreen controls. The system, with an 8-inch screen, is very
easy to use and comes with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™
More rear space: Rear-seat passengers
can enjoy more room in the back than they could in competing compact and
subcompact SUVs. The XT4 boasts best-in-class rear legroom at 39.5 inches.
Maximum comfort: The inviting leather
seating and advanced climate system make the ride in the XT4 highly pleasant.
But the comfortable ride depends on more than just that. The 2019 Cadillac XT4
also includes available Active Sport Suspension with adaptive shock absorbers,
which make the ride even more smooth and calm.
fuel economy: The 2019 Cadillac XT4 earns up to 30 miles per gallon on the

When it came to lookin’ good in classic American movies, filmmakers knew a surefire way how to do it: shine a spotlight on a cool and classy Cadillac vehicle. Few vehicles have gained as much fame from the movies as Cadillacs, where they have been driven by Hollywood’s greatest actors. Here are some of the most famous Cadillacs featured in movies.
The Big Wheel (1949)
The Big Wheel pays
homage to American auto racing with its main character, Mickey Rooney, gunning
for a career in motorsports. In a movie that heavily features cars, one stands
out in particular — Rooney’s sleek 1941 Cadillac Series 62 convertible coupe.
Pink Cadillac (1989)
The Big Wheel is
not the only film to feature a Series 62 convertible. Pink Cadillac refers to the same model. In this film, Clint
Eastwood — as a bounty hunter — pursues a woman on the run in her husband’s
Driving Miss Daisy (1989)
In Driving Miss Daisy,
one of Daisy’s cars is a white 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty Special.
This comedy involves the titular group employing a 1959
Cadillac ambulance to travel to all their ghostbusting endeavors.

Whether you’re visiting friends or family for the holiday season or driving your daily commute to work, your time on wet, icy roads is as certain as you hitting the morning snooze. Stay safe this season and follow these winter driving tips.
If you are driving on snow and ice, one of the best ways to maintain
traction between your car’s tires and the road is to accelerate slowly. Starting
up quickly can cause your vehicle to slip, so give yourself some time to get up
to speed gradually.
Leave early for work, appointments, and other engagements to
give yourself extra time to adjust your driving to the weather conditions. Severe
winter weather calls for slower driving, so take your time when you turn,
start, and stop.
Stock Up On Gas
In cold weather, it’s important to keep the gas tank half
full. A low fuel tank can cause the gas line to freeze up.
Skip the Cruise Control
If you are using cruise control and come across an icy patch,
the cruise control could be your worst enemy, as it may keep your vehicle
accelerating when it shouldn’t. Avoid using this feature on slick surfaces so
you can maintain control over your vehicle.
We know that you will use common sense out on the roadways. However, if the weather is not kind to your vehicle, you can bring it to ELCO Cadillac for maintenance and repairs.
Over time, minor scratches can accumulate on your vehicle, but we have some good news. There are several ways you can remove scratches from your car’s paint that are affordable and effective so you don’t have to pay for a touch-up or whole new coat of paint. Remarkably, you can use toothpaste to remove minor scratches from your car, and here’s how.
Evaluate the scratch. Toothpaste is less effective at combating deeper scratches. If the scratch appears buried, pursue other scratch removal methods.
Wash the area. Use water and a cleaning product designed for car exteriors.
Prepare cloth with toothpaste. Get a microfiber towel, dampen it with water, and add about a quarter-sized amount of toothpaste.
Apply toothpaste to scratch. Firmly rub the toothpaste into the scratch using circular motions.
Rinse off toothpaste using water and re-evaluate the scratch. If necessary, you can reapply toothpaste one or two more times, evaluating after each application. Applying toothpaste more than three times might damage the clear coat on your vehicle’s paint.
Next time you are at your bathroom sink, remember that your toothpaste does more than clean your teeth. If you would like more tips and tricks on caring for your vehicle, visit us at ELCO Cadillac.
Not all Cadillac vehicles are meant for everyday use. One the rare occasion, a special one might be tucked away for very particular intentions. One such vehicle lives in Detroit, where it has been stored safely for decades when not in use. This special Cadillac is a white, vintage LaSalle hearse. Cadillac built this hearse in 1940, with two doors, three speeds, and a shifter in the steering column.
The vintage Cadillac LaSalle hearse is a gorgeous vehicle that has been dusted off for use in honoring some remarkable lives. Most recently, the LaSalle hearse was used to transport Aretha Franklin during her public viewing and memorial in Detroit. Aretha Franklin’s Cadillac LaSalle hearse has also been used in ceremonies for her father, Rev. C.L. Franklin; for David Ruffin, a member of Motown vocal group the Temptations; and Rosa Parks.
The Cadillac LaSalle hearse is owned by the Swanson Funeral Home, who purchased the vehicle back in 1958. The same driver typically drives the vehicle throughout the past 30 years, though on this particular event, it was O’Neil D. Swanson, the president of the funeral home, who took the wheel.
The Cadillac LaSalle is a beautiful and classic Detroit icon just as the Queen of Soul was a Detroit icon herself, so many viewers — including us at ELCO Cadillac — were touched to see this perfect fit come together for her public viewing.
Autumn is right around the corner, which means that now is the perfect time for a fall road trip. Missouri has many great routes for those who want to appreciate the natural beauty this state has to offer. You can take a tour of wine country, watch the leaves change, and enjoy the crisp, autumn air as you drive.
The Lake of the Ozarks Loop is one of the best scenic drives in the fall, according to Missouri Howell. Covering 130 miles, you will go past the hills of the Osage River Valley and the scenic Lake of the Ozarks. There are several state parks and conservation areas along the way, including smaller roads off the beaten path for those who want to go on an adventure.
Next, take a tour of wine country. While Napa and Sonoma Valleys are the best-known spots in the US for wine, Missouri has a lot to offer in terms of vino buono—“the good wine.” You can take a 125-mile tour of places just outside St. Louis and as far as Hermann. There are several wineries in the area, but be sure to take a designated driver along if you plan on drinking. If you prefer beer, check out the Hermann Oktoberfest.
The St. Francois Loop is perfect for those who want a romantic getaway. Covering 70 miles of mountainous scenery and striking colors, the beautiful regions includes Johnson’s Shut-Ins and the Mark Twain National Forest.

Few brands have captured the American imagination quite like Cadillac. From film to literature, Cadillac vehicles have appeared in high places — and sometimes low ones — across the country’s cultural history. It might be in the rich world of country music that the Cadillac shines brightest.
We’re all big fans of both good ol’ Americana country and a classic Cadillac here at ELCO Cadillac, so here’s our three favorite country songs inspired by Cadillac vehicles:
“The Ride” by David Allen Coe
Mr. Coe is “thumbing from Montgomery” when a stranger picks him up in an “antique Cadillac,” and the rest is country music history. From its deep, Southern riffs to its old-fashioned country-gothic lyrics, American music doesn’t get much better than “The Ride.”
“One Piece at a Time” by Johnny Cash
What list of Americana music would be complete without an entry from the one-and-only Johnny Cash? In this beloved hit, he pines for a “long and black” Cadillac of his own so deeply that he sneaks the car out of the factory in which he works, you guessed it, “one piece at a time.”
“Cadillac Red” by The Judds
Ladies, if you’re “full of high octane,” this one is for you. The Judds’ song is an homage to a mysterious and powerful red-haired woman, lovingly called “Cadillac Red,” and her adventures with her female comrades behind the wheel of a Cadillac of her very own.
If you also love these songs and find that their longing for a Cadillac calls out to you, visit us at ELCO Cadillac and take a look at our showroom
