No Planned Electric Future for Cadillac CT4 and CT5

Like most General Motors brands, Cadillac has committed to developing and releasing more all-electric vehicles in the near future in a bid to go green and revolutionize the roadway. For traditionalists, this has caused significant trepidation about the future of gas vehicles.

Thanks to a recent announcement from Cadillac regarding the fate of the CT4 and CT5, fans of fossil-fuel-powered cars and electric skeptics can rest easy knowing that not all Cadillacs will be electrified just yet. According to the luxury automaker — as reported by industry website Car Buzz — the luxury automaker does not intend to introduce all-electric – or, for that matter, gas/electric hybrid – versions of the popular CT4 and CT5 sedans.

Fans of the CT4 and CT5 will be even happier to hear that the V-Series variants of the beloved performance sedans will don the prestigious Blackwing badge. Better still, Cadillac confirmed that both the CT4-V and CT5-V will have the option to be equipped with a manual transmission for extra control. Other premium performance features like V-Mode, Super Cruise, and Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 will also be available for the powerful sedans.

The 2020 CT4-V and CT5-V, which will be available in limited quantities later this year, are expected to be the fastest Cadillacs ever produced.
