Cadillac hopes to be 100 percent electric by 2030

Cadillac has seen the future, and it’s electric — or at least most of it is. Late last year, Reuters reported that the head of Cadillac, Steve Carlisle, announced that all – or a majority – of its vehicles would be 100 percent electric by 2030. That means that within the next decade, we’ll be able to watch the automaker that defined American luxury completely redefine the EV market and up the game for the rest of the industry.

If you follow the Cadillac brand closely, you’re probably not surprised by this news. Cadillac has dabbled in electric vehicles a fair amount up to this point, and has mentioned its plans for an all-electric future multiple times. Moreover, it just announced an all-new, fully electric crossover SUV called the Lyric.

There’s been a fair amount of speculation regarding what might happen to some beloved Cadillac models if the brand moves forward with its electric future? Cadillac was sure to say its lineup might be mostly electric by 2030, meaning fan favorites, like the Escalade, could theoretically continue as a gas model, even if an EV version is also on offer.

While you and the rest of the world wait to learn more about Cadillac’s upcoming electric crossover – as well as their future lineup – feel free to stop by ELCO Chevrolet Cadillac and experience the vehicles that represent the current pinnacle of American luxury.
